Meet the Staff

Linda Sanders I am owner/operator of the Chaparral Animal Spa. I was born in Iowa and spent most of my teenaged years riding my horse, went to Iowa State University for a year (was going to be a vet, but didn’t study), moved to Denver, traveled around the western U.S. for a few years and landed in Las Vegas. My ex-husband and I built the Chaparral Animal Spa in 1979…it’s been going strong for 38 years, but, alas, the marriage withered.

I inherited my love for animals from my mother and God gave me a talent for relating to and working with animals.  As a kid, I might chase a stray dog all over town and then tell my mom “he followed me home.”  I’ve almost never been without a dog…or two…or fourteen!  At one point in my life I owned two toy poodles and enrolled in dog grooming school with no idea that I’d ever own my own kennel/grooming business.  I acquired my first Gordon Setter in 1972, enrolled in obedience training class, and discovered the world of dog shows and field trials.  In 1979 I was blessed to become builder-owner of my own kennel, the Chaparral Animal Spa, where we consider it an honor to have your beloved pet in our care. We will do our best to allay your fears and concerns regarding leaving your pet. We give your pet tender lovin’ care, when you’re not there! Try us! You’ll like us!

Judy has been a big asset here at the Chaparral Animal Spa for more than 18 years. She was born in Iowa and grew up on a small farm where she milked cows and cared for all kinds of livestock. She has great affinity for all animals, especially Bassets and Dachshunds, and will love and care for your pet just as you would while he/she is staying with us. She enjoys gardening and meeting new people/clients and finding out about their pets and family. She and Steve have been married over 44 years and recently brought her mother out to live with them.

Tiger, She was born here. Nothing gets past this desk without my approval.
